A Vipps number is a simple self-service solution where the customer intitiates the payment by scanning a static QR code or entering the Vipps number. The customer then either enters the amount or selects from a list of predefined products. The Mobile Point-of-Sale, on the other hand, is a full cash register system where the company initiates the payment. It supports multiple payment methods, including card, Vipps and cash, and offers additional features such as product management, sales overviews, reports. If you have book keeping obligations and don’t have a cash register solution from before, or want a new one, it’s Mobile Point-of-sale you should have. But if you only want a self service solution initiated by the customer, you should use Vipps Number. Of course, you can use both solutions together!
