How we determine the location you last accessed MoblePay from

In SMS messages from us and in the app, you may see the approximate location from which you last used a particular device. This helps you verify whether the device belongs to you.

If you see a device you do not recognize, it’s important that you contact us immediately. See: Do you suspect that you have been scammed?

The location is based on the device’s IP address. An IP address is a standard way for devices to communicate on the Internet and cannot be used to pinpoint your exact location. The location we obtain from the IP address is usually accurate to the city or region, but it may not always be correct.

To convert an IP address to a rough location, we use the GeoLite2 database created by MaxMind (https://www.maxmind.com)
