How do I add a new card?

To add a new card to MobilePay:

  1. Select 'Me'
  2. Select 'Accounts and cards'
  3. Select 'Add card'
  4. Fill in your card number, expiration date and CVC
  5. Select Add/Register
  6. Identify yourself with your online banking credentials (3D Secure)

You can give your cards and accounts their own names so that you can easily remember which card or account you want to use when you send money.

Remember that your payment card is personal, therefore it is only allowed to add cards you own yourself to MobilePay.

If adding the card is not successful, please check the following:

  • Make sure the card can be used for online purchases and that no separate online payment limit has been set for it
  • Ensure that your card is Finnish (including virtual cards)
  • Check that the card is valid and active, and has not been blocked, for example by the card issuer
  • If you have received a new card, make sure you have used it at least once at a payment terminal, an ATM, or activated it in your online banking
  • Check whether there are daily limits set for the card
  • If you are adding a co-branded (combination) card, make sure you are using the correct CVC code (debit and credit cards have different card numbers and CVC codes)

If the authentication that takes place when adding the card fails, please check the following:

  • Make sure you have a supported default browser (on iPhone: Safari / on Android: Chrome)
  • If you have a VPN on your phone, turn it off (a VPN is usually a paid additional service that may be included, for example, in a separate security service on your phone. A VPN connection hides your IP address, which may prevent authentication from working properly, so it should be turned off during the authentication process)
  • Ensure that you have the latest version of the MobilePay app. If needed, you can update the app in the app store (iPhone: App Store / Android: Google Play)
