Does it cost anything to send money abroad?

Sending money abroad with MobilePay costs 4% of the amount you send.

When you enter the amount that you want to send, MobilePay calculates approximately how many Danish kroner will be deducted from your card. The exchange rate you see in MobilePay is from Norges Bank and shows approximately how much that will be deducted. However, it is your bank’s exchange rate that ultimately determines the exact amount deducted.

In addition to this, most banks will add a currency surcharge (a fee for paying with a card abroad). The exact amount varies from bank to bank. This is a separate fee that we have no control over or influence on.

Here’s an example: You send 100 NOK to your friend Linn in Norway. The price for 100 NOK is approximately 64.95 DKK when converting the currency. We then charge a fee of 4% of 100 NOK, making the total cost to send the 100 NOK approximately 67.34 DKK. Additionally, most banks add a currency surcharge.
